Lynnda Sherman Bloom passed peacefully on June 12, 2018, in Atlanta, GA. She was 75.
Born in Lynn in 1943, Lynnda lived in Swampscott from 1968 until 2012. She worked her entire career at New England Telephone, NYNEX and AT&T in customer service and management until retiring at the age of 53.
Lynnda was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandchildren until the age of 67, when she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. She was an active member of Temple Israel in Swampscott.
Survivors include her husband Martin of Sandy Springs, daughters Meredith Cohen and Carrie (Sam) Kaplan, of Atlanta, and Elissa Bloom of Philadelphia. Grandchildren Rachel, Ava, Lauren, Danielle, and Avi. Brother James Sherman of Marblehead.
Services were held on June 14 at Arlington Memorial Park, 201 Mount Vernon Hwy NW, Sandy Springs, GA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association, 399 Market Street, Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106 (alz.org).
