Brother of the late Frank Harris and Sidney Harris. Dear son of the late Abraham Harris and Etta (Aronson) Harris. Loving brother-in-law and uncle to a large extended family.
Bob was born in Salem and raised in Lynn. Bob served in the Navy during World War II. He worked as a sales representative of men’s uniforms.
Bob raised his family in Swampscott and was very active in the Jewish community. He served on the board of directors and was elected an Honorary Life Board Member at both the JCC of the North Shore and Camp Bauercrest. His connection with the JCC spanned over 75 years.
Throughout his life, Bob enjoyed traveling with family and friends. Bob also enjoyed working with his wife Edith in the antique business. In retirement, he was able to spend more time in the woodshop, where he loved creating pieces from cribbage boards to furniture for his children and grandchildren.
Bob will be remembered fondly by many. He was a respected and admired friend of all who knew him.
A funeral service for Bob Harris was held on December 30 at Stanetsky-Hymanson Memorial Chapel, Salem, followed by burial at Shirat Hayam cemetery in Peabody.
