Temple Emanu-El in Haverhill will welcome National Jewish Book Award-winner Joshua Rubenstein, who will discuss his most recent book, “The Last Days of Stalin,” on Sunday, Oct. 20. A continental breakfast will be served at 9:30 a.m., and the presentation will follow at 10 a.m. A donation of $10 per person is suggested. Mr. Rubenstein’s presentation is the second program in Temple Emanu-El’s 2019 Author Series. Angela Himsel, author of “A River Could Be a Tree,” will share her journey from evangelical Christianity to Judaism on November 17, and the Series concludes with Jamie Bernstein, daughter of Leonard Bernstein and author of “Famous Father Girl: A Memoir of Growing Up Bernstein,” discussing her father as public figure and family man on Dec. 8.
