This is a response to David Rosenberg’s letter to the editor that appeared in the July 2 edition of the Jewish Journal. (“Reader cannot support Black Lives Matter.”)
Our nation is in a major crisis and significant change needs to happen now. Police across this country are continuing to murder Black Americans at an alarming and increasing rate. To introduce irrelevant issues as an excuse for not supporting this movement does nothing but distract from all of us solving the problem.
As a Jew, I of course, care deeply about the issue of anti-Semitism. And yet, for Mr. Rosenberg to suggest that his beliefs relative to Israeli politics should in any way limit his support for the right to save Black lives is ridiculous.
Black Lives Matter.
