John and Colette Green of Swampscott spent three weeks in the People’s Republic of China from mid-February to early March.
Their visit to China began in Beijing and ended in Shanghai, but the highlight of the trip was spending five days with their friend (and John’s former student in the graduate program at Salem State) Chang Cao and her husband Ray in their home town of Hohhot, the capital of the region of Inner Mongolia in the north of the country. The Greens brought along the Jewish Journal to the Dazhao Temple, a 16th century monastery.
