A group of North Shore women recently completed a Torah class with Jewish educator Layah Lipsker. The course was offered through Hebrew College’s Open Circle Jewish Learning. The class explored the Kabbalistic lens of the stories in Genesis.
Said Lipsker, “I think the class is about transitions and identity. It’s a group of intelligent and spiritual women who are interested in what biblical literature has to add to the experience of self-growth, self-acceptance, and finding resilience and purpose in this second or third journey of life.
“Biblical literature and Jewish ritual can have real meaning and relevance when read through the lens of Midrash and Kabbalah. We read the tests through the prism of our experience and circumstances and the messages we hear can really resonate.”
