I’d like to clarify some points that were printed in the previous edition of the Jewish Journal.
Two weeks ago, we were made aware of the recent appearance of a small display of an anti-Semitic Nazi symbol on the Jewish Community Center of the North Shore property grounds. We immediately contacted the local police and the Anti-Defamation League, both of whom provide guidance in these situations. We followed the instruction of the local Marblehead Police and, as always, remain willing and committed to cooperating in any necessary and suggested follow-up, in relation to such instances.
Our leadership would like to use this incident as a reminder that hatred is still alive and lurking in our community, and to underscore the need for all of us to stand together against acts of bigotry (in general) and anti-Semitism (in particular), as it touches our community directly. We are strong, we are united, and we are unafraid!
