Shirat Hayam welcomes Israeli ShinShinim to the North Shore

Bar and Neta

Congregation Shirat Hayam warmly welcomes Neta and Bar, two Israeli ShinShinim who will spend the coming year strengthening connections between Israel and Jewish communities across the North Shore.

ShinShinim are Israeli high school graduates who serve Jewish communities abroad. Through educational programs, holiday celebrations, classroom visits, music, conversation, and personal relationships, Neta and Bar will share Israeli culture and everyday life with children, teens, adults, and families.

Congregation Shirat Hayam will serve as the regional host for this collaborative initiative, working with more than 12 synagogues, schools, and Jewish organizations. The program is made possible with support from Combined Jewish Philanthropies, the Congregation Ahabat Sholom Charitable Trust, and participating community partners.

“We are thrilled to welcome Neta and Bar to the North Shore,” said Deborah Schutzman, executive director of Congregation Shirat Hayam. “Their energy, experiences, and love of Israel will enrich our community while helping participants develop meaningful, personal relationships with Israel and its people.”

Throughout their year of service, Neta and Bar will participate in educational, religious, cultural, and community programs throughout the region. Their presence offers a unique opportunity to experience Israel through their stories and perspectives while building relationships that will endure long after their year concludes.
