Award-winning TV news reporter Kimberly Bookman, a fixture at WHDH-TV Boston for a dozen years, signed off at 7 News in August by saying on Facebook: “So, stay tuned … the next chapter is just beginning!”
Turns out, the Needham native will be turning the page on her 26-year career at another Greater Boston station, NBC10 Boston.
Bookman wrote she is going to continue doing what she loves in the city that she loves.
“I’m excited to join the team at NBC10 Boston,” she wrote. “They are investing in the future of local news and in the many ways people are consuming and connecting to what’s going on. How we reach an audience is changing and I want to be part of the evolution.”
She thanked the NBC10 Boston team for welcoming her and believing in her and giving her the opportunity to be part of what the station is building. “I’m grateful, excited and ready to start work September 14th!”
She noted to everyone who reached out during her transition that she had seen every post, text, email, article and message, and was touched by them.
“My commitment to the work, to this community, stays the same. It’s the station that’s changing. I hope you’ll follow me on this journey,” Bookman wrote.
