The Birthright Israel Foundation will host an evening celebration in Boston on May 6 at 7 p.m. to honor Barry Shrage. Shrage is a professor at Brandeis University’s Hornstein Jewish Professional Leadership Program and president emeritus of Combined Jewish Philanthropies. The evening will recognize his visionary leadership and dedication to Birthright Israel and the Jewish community.
At a time of heightened campus tensions and widespread misinformation, Birthright Israel’s mission to build a new generation of proud, resilient, and knowledgeable Jewish leaders has never been more urgent. Birthright Israel remains the most proven way to reverse generational decline in Jewish identity. Through the Generations Campaign, the organization is committed to bringing 200,000 Jewish young adults to Israel by 2029, an effort requiring $650 million in funding and $250 million in legacy gifts to secure its long-term impact.
The Boston celebration will unite local Jewish leaders, Birthright Israel alumni and community supporters around a shared belief: One trip changes everything. Guests will have the opportunity to connect, honor Shrage’s extraordinary legacy, and invest in a strong, vibrant future for the Jewish people.
The event is co-chaired by Linda and Michael Frieze, Jessica and Chuck Myers, and Marissa and Zach Wainwright.
